Curriculum Based/Classroom

Curriculum based activities and events can spur students' interest in particular areas of the school’s curriculum, help familiarize families with different aspects of it, and provide an opportunity for parent-teacher collaboration.

They also can double as community building events and/or fundraisers, but must comply with the Chancellor’s regulations that pertain to fundraising. Keep in mind, too, that if your event is held after school hours, the PA/PTA will need to secure a permit, which, according to CR A-660, should be requested from the school custodian. If food will be sold, the PA/PTA should note that in the permit, per CR D-180.
