At P.S. 295, Cupcake Friday is a fun and easy way to build community while adding a little PTA revenue to every month of the school year. On the last Friday of each month, volunteers bring in cupcakes and other baked goods (usually homemade, or at least box-made) to sell during the after-school pickup. A “suggested donation” of $1 per item beats the price at any bakery while making sure everyone can participate. Kids love it, and the feeding frenzy makes for a festive atmosphere to close out the week. You should be able to bring in around $.75- $1 per student in your school for each sale. It really adds up over the year!
